The formal living room, just left of the foyer, is entered through a set of heavy French doors. Plaster molkding, painted with gold and ivory trim, enhances the ceiling. A hanging light fixture featuring a rose-colored silk rope wound around the stem is centered in the room.

A special feature is the lovely fireplace which displays marble from the Mexican palace of Maximilian. It is adorned with dental molding and roman columns. Originally designed for gas, the Paris family, who owned the home in the 1940s through 1970s, had it adapted for burning wood.
