Original paint in the Marland kitchen was green with cream trim and that is what Friends of Marland's Grand Home used as a color theme when the kitchen was remodeled in 2005. It was designed to keep the feel of the 1916-1928 period while new amenities such as a double-drawer dishwasher, microwave oven, warming drawer and custom cabinets  were created to mimic the original cabinets. An exhaust fan, original to the home, is installed in an outside window and on the back porch, just off the kitchen, remains the remnants of the ice-block delivery door. Hand-embroidered and petit point linens created by Mary Virginia Marland decorate the walls and a vintage ice-box and stove give a sense of the past.
